Here we are in France. We’ve set the satnav to ‘avoid tolls’ so its the slow road to each next destination. Banks of wild daffodils, primroses and cowslips have slipped past as we trundle through towns and villages filled with typical french style.

There’s a great sense of things missed as we drive along. A petit chateau in ruins, a charming village scene, an intreuging land
